Apple's in-house music service opens. In the future, Apple Music will also be available directly in the web browser, as has long been known from competing offers such as Spotify, Google Music or Amazon Music. The iPhone manufacturer has one Beta site released, where you can try the new web app now.
Until now only possible with crafts
So far, it was only possible to use Apple Music on the desktop within iTunes; Officially, there were only preview views on the Web and the integration of individual tracks with marketing tools. However, a web app had already hinted, as appropriate interfaces were available – several hobbyists they had used for unofficial web players.
Apple Music on the Web is based on the new music app for the Mac, which will be part of the upcoming operating system macOS 10.15 aka Catalina. There are the usual sections "For You", "Discover" as well as "Radio", access to referrals, quit-lists and more. The music is played directly in a player module at the top of the screen, on the left side is navigated through the library. In order to have access to your own account, you must of course first register with his Apple ID. Without login, there are at least auditions.
Runs now under Linux
Apple Music is released for all current browsers and operating systems – including Linux, which was otherwise unusable. Under ChromeOS you could install for some time Apple's Android version of Apple Music.
As usual in a beta phase, there are still some problems – in the short test, for example, the music played stuttered. In addition, a registration for a new Apple Music access on the Web is currently not possible, you will be redirected to iTunes or must use the iOS or Android app. However, anyone familiar with the new Music app for the Mac will quickly find their way around. Apple wants feedback from customers to the beta.
