Apple TV +: Dolby Vision again on Airplay 2

After a break of several weeks, Apple's media player Apple TV 4K in combination with a Dolby Vision capable TV has been back in the dynamic Dolby Vision format with extended color gamut and high dynamic range available.

However, Dolby Vision was still unavailable to users who send Apple TV + via Airplay 2 to current LG TVs. Here, the main series playback continued to be limited to HD resolution and standard dynamic range. Since today's Thursday can be read in this way but again in this way all Apple TV + content in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision.

Apple had apparently largely disabled Dolby Vision because some customers of its flat-rate video streaming service had reported problems playing this HDR format. At Dolby Vision, film studios can use metadata to set the desired image impression not just once for the entire movie, but frame by frame. Apple's streaming service iTunes was never affected by the measure.
