Black Friday brings sales promotions around Apple hardware from iPhones to iPads and Macs to Apple Watch, AirPods and other accessories. Many of the offers are not very attractive on closer inspection, and many retailers try to sell older goods. With Macs in particular, you should check carefully which year of construction is actually being offered before buying. To make your search easier, we have put together some interesting offers.
As usual, Apple itself does not offer any price reductions, but the manufacturer includes gift cards with a value of 25 to 150 euros when purchasing certain products. The cards can only be used to refill the Apple ID balance and to purchase software or content in the App Store and iTunes Store. Subscriptions for Apple and many third-party services can also be paid for.
Black Friday for iPhones
The new iPhone 12 is taking Apple out of its action. A gift card of 50 euros is available when purchasing an iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XR (2018) or iPhone 11. Media Markt and Saturn offer the iPhone SE 2020 currently for just under 400 euros.
On eBay there is a purchase value of 550 euros or more a discount of 50 euros on electronic productsFor example, the iPhone 11 can be bought from large providers such as Media Markt via the platform for 550 euros instead of 600 euros. The iPhone 12 mini can also be found for just under 700 euros, for example, but you should check whether it is being offered for sale by a trustworthy dealer.
Offers for MacBooks & Co
Apple includes a gift card of 150 euros with the purchase of a 16 “MacBook Pro as well as the 21.5” iMac, both still come with Intel processors. Other retailers also mostly have offers for older Intel Macs. Here you shouldn’t be fooled by the statement “year of construction 2020” – before the current versions with the M1 chip, Apple brought a MacBook Air and 13th in the spring .3 “MacBook Pro with Intel processors on the market. With regard to the performance leap in the new M1 Macs (see also MacBook Pro with Apple’s M1 processor in the test: Apple Silicon beats Intel), the older models are only limited recommend.
At Apple, the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Apple’s M1 chip are included in the voucher campaign, there is a 50 euro card. However, the offer has a significant catch: It is only valid on site in Apple’s stores – i.e. not online – and only if the models that have just been introduced are available, as the manufacturer notes in the small print.
The Apple dealer Compustore gives 150 euros discount on MacsThis means that the basic model of the new MacBook Air with the M1 chip can be purchased for 950 euros, for example. Mac mini is excluded from the promotion.
