Razer introduced the Blade Stealth 13 (2020), an updated version of the gaming ultrabook from last year. The 13 laptop was revised in several ways – primarily the hardware inside, the display and the keyboard. Buyers get more performance than the previous Blade Stealth 13 (test) and fortunately even for the same price.
With 304 x 210 x 15.3 mm, the dimensions of the new device are identical to the predecessor. The ports are also parity, because Razer uses Thunderbolt 3 (PCIe Gen3 x4), one USB-C-3.2-Gen2 and two USB-A-3.2-Gen1 sockets as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. The first change concerns the display, because the previous bright, matt 1080p panel with IPS technology was operated at 60 Hz. For the new edition, the manufacturer doubles the frequency to 120 Hz, there is still a shiny 4K60 touch alternative.
The keyboard lights up in RGB colors as usual, but the whistle up and arrow down keys have been shrunk in favor of a wide right shift key. Inside, there is still a Core i7-1065G7 (Ice Lake U) with four cores and eight threads, but Razer has increased the permanent power target (PL1) from 15 watts to 25 watts. Usually, this measure increases the speed by about a third, depending on the cooling.
It remains with 16 GB of soldered LPDDR4X-3733 RAM, the dedicated graphics unit is upgraded from a Geforce GTX 1650 Max-Q to a Geforce GTX 1650 Ti. The performance gain here should be around 10 percent, since only the power -Target and the clock rate increase minimally. Razer installs an interchangeable M.2280 SSD, the NVMe drive always has a capacity of 512 GB. WiFi6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5 are available as wireless connections.
At 51 watt hours, the battery is as big as in the predecessor, where the runtime was 200 cd / m² brightness and a good 9:17 hours. It can be assumed that the 120 Hz panel reduces this value, whereby the user is free to reduce the frequency to 60 Hz on the go. The 4K panel model only lasted 5:21 hours. Razer sells the Blade Stealth 13 (2020) with 1080p120 display for 2,000 euros, the 4K screen costs 200 euros extra.
Blade Stealth 13 is already on sale in North America and is slated for Europe "soon" start – we tap on May 2020.
