CD Projekt Red: The Witcher 3 hext on PS5 and Xbox Series X

The Polish development studio CD project red has announced that there will be a specially adapted version of The Witcher 3 for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. “Ray tracing and faster loading times” are firmly promised – we will only find out later what else will be optimized.

The update should appear free of charge, also for the version on Windows PC. In addition to the free upgrade, there is also a purchase version for the new consoles. The Wild Hunt – Complete Editon contains the base game as well as the two expansions and all additional content.

CD Projekt Red has not yet given a date or price. The studio is likely to be busy at the moment anyway: with the completion of Cyberpunk 2077. The role-playing game is due to be launched on November 19, 2020 for Windows PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

According to the latest information, Cyberpunk 2077 also runs on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, right at the start of sales of the game or the respective console. An upgrade with nicer graphics should appear for the two consoles, but probably not until early 2021.

The developers have just confirmed that they are currently almost certain that Cyberpunk 2077 will be completed and released on time. The PC system requirements are to be announced soon – part of the community is eagerly anticipating this.

The action adventure appears in Germany with a USK approval from 18 years without any changes in content compared to the original version. In the campaign, the players are the main character V in the dystopian Night City. Not much is known about the plot yet, including a mysterious chip of immortality.

The players see both the actual gameplay and most of the cutscenes from the main character’s point of view, i.e. from the first-person perspective. After the release (probably even much later) a multiplayer mode will follow, about which no information is available yet.
