At the end of the year Cool blue open his largest store in Germany. The location of the 2,600 m² branch is the Düsseldorf Kö-Bogen II, which is known for the largest green facade in Europe. With the opening of its first German stationary shop, Coolblue – the next-day delivery service – is continuing to build its own infrastructure in Germany. This consists of his own delivery and installation service CoolblueDeliveries, our own bike delivery service CoolblueRadelt, in-house customer service and physical stores.
Own next-day delivery service
Since the successful start in Germany last year, Coolblue has satisfied customers with its service, next-day delivery and personal product advice. The online retailer’s expansion to Germany began with CoolblueLtds, its own delivery and assembly service for large household appliances and televisions, on the Lower Rhine. Coolblue’s own bicycle delivery service, CoolblueRadelt, was later introduced in Germany. This makes Coolblue the first online retailer in Germany to deliver orders by bike itself.
First – and largest – Coolblue store in Germany
Coolblue’s next step in setting up its own infrastructure in Germany is the introduction of stationary stores. Pieter Zwart, CEO of Coolblue: “Customers often know what product they are looking for, but they want to experience it for themselves. When customers need a new TV, they want to try it out first. When looking for a new pair of headphones, they want to try them out first and see how they look when they are worn. In the Netherlands and Belgium we have made customers very happy by allowing them to experience products in our stores. This will also be possible in our largest store in Germany before the end of the year. This store opening is just the beginning: We are planning to open more stores. ”
In the Düsseldorf store, customers can experience products in seven different product worlds: laptops & IT, mobile phones & tablets, televisions, headphones & speakers, washing machines & dryers, kitchen and coffee. Customers not only have the opportunity to try out the products, but can also seek advice from product experts, collect their online orders and take advantage of the after-sales service.
