Microsoft is now distributing the Windows 10 November 2019 update for unmanaged environments. According to Microsoft, this version is available for all Windows 10 users who are looking for updates.
To do this, users must become active and open the "Settings" page in Windows 10 via the Start menu. Then you have to go to the category
Update und Sicherheit > Windows Update > Nach Updates suchen switch. After a successful search under "Windows Update", the entry "Function update for Windows 10, version 1909" should be displayed in the category "Optional updates available". The function update is only available on Windows 10 clients that have known compatibility problems with the new version 1909.
Little has changed compared to the original release of Windows 10 November 2019 Update. Since November 2019, it has been possible for users to download Windows 10 Version 1909 via the update search as a function update or using the Media Creation Tool (MCT) as the installation medium from the Microsoft website and then install it via an existing Windows 10 system.
Microsoft apparently thinks the time has come two and a half months after the initial release to offer this function update for all Windows 10 versions. In fact, only Windows 10 version 1809 and version 1903 are relevant, since support for version 1803 is already available on November 12, 2019 for Home and Pro has expired,
The Windows 10 version 2004 expected for spring 2020 has been completed from a developer perspective since December 2019 and should be released in general by the beginning of April 2020 at the latest. So the delivery of the "old version" 1909 is now accelerated.
For the controlled delivery for Windows 10 version 1909, Microsoft automatically makes the feature update available for a larger number of devices on which the October 2018 update (Windows 10, version 1809) runs in the Home and Pro editions. This version is still in support with regard to security updates; Microsoft now wants to give users of older Windows 10 variants the opportunity to switch to the November 2019 update by automatically providing them.
