OLED and LCD: LG reveals prices for upcoming TVs and roll-out TVs

The LG group has some prices and availability dates for OLED televisions and Nanocell devices announced, The roll-out OLED TV OLED65RX9LA also has a price: The 65-inch product with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels costs 60,000 euros. An availability date for the roll TV is not yet known. All other products are expected to be sold in April, May and June 2020.

In general, LG is not quite as aggressive with the introduction of 8K compared to the competitor Samsung. In the OLED area, only the larger 88ZX9LA with 88 inches and 77ZX9LA with 77 inches have an 8K resolution. These are said to cost 20,000 and 30,000 euros. All OLED televisions are equipped with HDMI 2.1. A total of four HDMI ports are available on all models.

The 48-OLED 48CX9lB TV, which has a 4K resolution and has replaced two HDMI 2.1 sockets with older 2.0 sockets, will be available from April for 1,800 euros. 48 inches is now a fairly small screen size in the TV area. In the CX series there are also similarly equipped 55, 65 and 77-inch models for 2,300, 3,100 and 7,000 euros. The large version will only be available from May.

IPS displays are cheaper

LG has somewhat cheaper 8K televisions in the LC range. The Nanocell
65NANO979NA, 75NANO979NA, 65NANO999NA and 75NANO999NA have 65 and 75 inch IPS panels with 8K resolution – recognizable by the first number in the product name. The price starts here at 3,900 euros for the 65-inch 65NANO979NA and goes up to a maximum of 5,300 euros for the 75-inch version 75NANO999NA. The 8K devices are equipped with HDMI 2.1 and 4.2 sound system.

However, the much cheaper 49NANO806NA, 55NANO806NA and 65NANO806NA with 49, 55 and 65-inch diagonals make the entry. These only have HDMI 2.0, which is sufficient for 4K at 60 Hz in 8 bits or with chroma subsampling. But the purchase prices are very low at 900, 1,000 and 1,300 euros. The entry-level models are to be sold from April.
