In an official teaser, Amazon Prime Video hints at the return of Q in the second season of Star Trek: Picard. “The exam never ends.” At the beginning of April, John de Lancie – who already embodied “Bonjour, mon Capitan!” – Q in The Next Generation – was officially announced as a Q actor. The second of the series will appear in Germany in 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
John de Lancie stated that he was more than ready for the role. The first reaction to the offer to return to Star Trek: Picard described in an interview with Wil Weaton: “Finally!”. Q is a member of the Q Continuum, made up of overpowering disembodied beings, and has appeared in The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Q is a popular character among many fans, who repeatedly challenged Picard and his crew in The Next Generation.
In addition to John de Lancie, there will also be a reunion with LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher and Whoopie Goldberg, who as the mysterious Guinan ran Bar Ten Front on the USS Enterprise.
The first season with 10 episodes of Star Trek: Picard ran in Germany on Amazon Prime Video in January 2020. In the US, the series is broadcast on the Paramount + video streaming service.
