“While stocks last” – Apple discontinues the current iMac Pro

Apple is discontinuing its current iMac Pro. The manufacturer’s online shop has been under “Buy iMac Pro” since Friday. “While stocks last.” to read. A configuration according to needs and your own wishes is also no longer possible – only a given configuration can currently be ordered. Across from MacRumors confirmed Apple, that the iMac Pro will no longer be availableas soon as supplies are sold out.

The powerful all-in-one device based on Intel was announced on June 5, 2017 and introduced in December 2017. The price range for the Pro device was between 5,500 euros for the entry-level model and 15,550 euros in the maximum configuration. The iMac (without Pro) introduced in 2020 is, depending on the configuration, faster than the iMac Pro – sometimes even faster than the Mac Pro – and costs only half the price.

For this March, some analysts expect the announcement of new iMacs with Apple’s own ARM processors, which will replace the current iMacs. In addition to new processors, a new design is also expected, which Apple has not changed since 2012. An official announcement by Apple for a corresponding keynote has not yet been made. If you believe the rumor mill, March 16, 2021 could be the date on which either the keynote will take place or a date for it will be announced.

From new iPads Pro to new iMacs, everything is being discussed for a possible March announcement – also in different colors for the M1 iMac. The iMac Pro is so far the only iMac in space gray. The keyboard and mouse in the same color, which initially only came with the iMac Pro, achieved horrific prices on the Internet. Later on, the keyboard, mouse and trackpad in space gray were regularly offered by Apple as accessories.
